Tony Cascarino has written in The Times that he does not think that Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka will be at the club next season.
The former Chelsea striker, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, was far from impressed by the mistake that Xhaka made during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Burnley in the Premier League at the weekend.
The 28-year-old Switzerland international midfielder failed to clear the ball away from inside the Gunners’ penalty box, leading to Chris Wood finding the back of the net for the Clarets.
While referring to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s pre-match comments about the future of the club, Cascarino has suggested that the Gunners will sell Xhaka.
Cascarino wrote in The Times: “Granit Xhaka’s error for Burnley’s equaliser against Arsenal is one of the worst you will see this season.
“Arsenal are trying to play out from the back but there is no way the midfielder, with three Burnley players bearing down on him, should be demanding the ball inside his own box.
“Mikel Arteta said before this game that the club need an ‘unprecedented’ level of transfer activity if they are to compete at the top of the league again. It is difficult to see Xhaka being a part of any long-term plans.”

Could Arsenal sell Granit Xhaka?
True, Xhaka made a bad mistake against Burnley, but the midfielder has been playing well for Arsenal this season and is an important player in the team.
According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old has made 22 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.
The Switzerland international has also played five times in the Europa League for the Gunners this campaign, according to WhoScored.
Of course, all players are for sale at most clubs, but it is hard to see Arsenal actively looking to move on Xhaka for one bad mistake.
