Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised new Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte, as quoted in Football.London.
Conte was appointed as the new Tottenham boss this week following the dismissal of Nuno.
Nuno left Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of last season and took charge of Spurs in the summer of 2021.
However, a run of poor results saw the Portuguese lose his job at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Arteta said when asked if Arsenal fans should be worried about Conte at Spurs: “First of all, I would like to send a message to Nuno because it’s always tough to see a colleague leave the job and Nuno has done extremely well in this country and shown that he is a top, top manager.
“They have made a decision to bring somebody else. We know that he (Conte) has a really successful past in the last two places that he’s been and we’ll see what he does here.”
Exciting North London battle
Arsenal and Tottenham are massive clubs and are bitter North London rivals.
In our view, the arrival of Conte at Spurs is going to make the battle between the two clubs even more intense.
The Gunners are doing better than Spurs on the pitch at the moment in the Premier League.
However, we know that Conte is a serial winner.
The Italian won the Premier League with Chelsea and then the Serie A title with Inter Milan.
Oh, Conte was also very successful with Juventus.
Both Arsenal and Spurs will fancy their chances of sneaking into the Premier League top four this season.
