Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that Jorginho was “tremendous” against Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners bounced back from their defeat to Manchester City in midweek with a 4-2 victory over Villa away from home today.
Jorginho started the match for Arsenal.
The former Chelsea star was one of the better players on the pitch at Villa Park.
The Italy international worked hard in the middle of the park and make it hard for the Villa players to impose themselves.
Jorginho did his best in the second half and was the architect of the third Arsenal goal.
The midfielder’s shot deflected in off Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez to make it 3-2 to Arsenal before substitute Gabriel Martinelli raced clear to score as the Villans chased an equaliser.
And Arteta was impressed.
