Mikel Arteta praises Rams head coach ahead of playoff test

Speaking to Sky Sports, Arteta did not hold back when discussing LA Rams head coach Sean McVay and the standards he has witnessed first-hand.
“I’m a huge fan of his. First of all, his passion, his work ethic, his knowledge, his memory. I’ve been there and seen him live in meetings and training sessions, it’s a different level.
“He is someone really, really special. What they have done in the last few years is incredible,” Arteta said.
Arteta’s comments underline the respect he has for McVay’s leadership style and attention to detail, qualities the Spaniard has often highlighted as key to success across elite sport.
Why Mikel Arteta feels part of the Rams’ Super Bowl run
Arteta also explained why he feels such a strong connection to the Rams’ current playoff challenge, particularly given their shared ownership under Stan Kroenke.
“Sunday we have a massive game, and I say ‘we’ because I really feel very much part of it,” he explained. “The last two games they won with the last kick of the game, by very small margins, and they are one game off reaching the Super Bowl again, so I wish them all the very best.”
The Arsenal manager’s use of “we” reflects the close ties between the clubs within Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, as well as Arteta’s genuine interest in how high-performance environments operate beyond football.
As Arsenal continue their own domestic and European challenges, Arteta’s admiration for the Rams’ resilience and playoff mentality offers insight into the cross-sport influences that shape his approach at the Emirates.
