Kai Havertz has failed to make a huge impact at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal since joining from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

Not many were convinced that Arsenal needed to sign Havertz.

After all, the 24-year-old is not a natural striker, and Arsenal did have enough players who could play out wide or in central attacking midfield positions.

Moreover, Arsenal paid £65 million in transfer fees for the Germany international.

Havertz has not made a good start to his Arsenal career.

The 24-year-old has made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played once in the UEFA Champions League.

There is no guarantee that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will keep Havertz in the starting lineup.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton winger Andros Townsend, though, believes that Havertz could come good for Arsenal eventually.

Townsend believes that Arteta must have a masterplan for Havertz.

The winger said about Arteta and Havertz on BBC Radio 5 Live: “He obviously sees something special that he believes can take Arsenal to the next level.

“Who are we to be sitting here and write that signing off?

“I firmly believe that there is a big masterplan for Kai Havertz that we have not seen yet.”

Havertz has made 97 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The forward has scored 19 goals and given seven assists in those games.

Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.

The North London club will also look to make an impact in the UEFA Champions League this campaign.
