Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has called teenager Chidozie Obi-Martin into first-team training ahead of the Champions League clash with Sevilla.

Arsenal teenager Chidozie Obi-Martin was spotted in first-team training at London Colney on Tuesday afternoon.

The Gunners are in Champions League action against Sevilla on Wednesday night, seeking to boost their qualification hopes.

Arsenal beat Sevilla last time out and are looking to repeat the trick in London with Mikel Arteta putting his players through their paces.

Chidozie Obi-Martin spotted in Arsenal first-team training

Arsenal’s first-team stars were of course the focus in first-team training, but teenager Chidozie Obi-Martin was featured too.

Also known as Chido Obi, the 15-year-old is considered to be one of Arsenal’s top young talents.

All Nigeria Soccer and Arsenal youth reporter Jeorge Bird both report that Obi-Martin was in first-team training on Tuesday.

One photo appears to show Obi-Martin in action alongside Takehiro Tomiyasu, with Arteta giving him a chance to shine.

We aren’t expecting to see Obi-Martin in action against Sevilla tonight, or even on the bench for that matter, but this training chance just goes to show how highly Arsenal rate him.

Who is Arsenal teenager Obi-Martin?

Striker Obi-Martin hails from Denmark and has already scored seven goals in nine caps for the Danish Under-17’s.

The teenager also qualifies to play for Nigerian and may well be the source of an international tug-of-war down the line.

Obi-Martin has played four times in the Under-18 Premier League this season and has already scored three goals.

Ian Wright has already been very impressed with Obi-Martin, stating on his podcast Wrighty’s House that the teenager ‘looks really quick’.

Wright did feel that Obi-Martin was a little raw and inexperienced last month, believing he still needs to learn how to use his frame as a striker.

Arsenal have high hopes though and Arteta seems to have seen something in the Danish forward.
