Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather are heading overseas for their exhibition fight, which is scheduled for 2026.
If you were expecting the event to happen in the US, it might come as a surprise. Instead, Tyson says the bout will take place somewhere in Africa, though no specific location has been confirmed yet.
The fight was expected to happen early in the year. But with just four months to go, there is still no broadcaster or host city confirmed. ‘Iron Mike’ has said they are planning for March.
Mike Tyson shares update on Floyd Mayweather exhibition plans

During a recent visit to Dublin, Tyson took part in several interviews where he spoke about his iconic boxing career. One topic that came up was his upcoming exhibition with Mayweather, and the 59-year-old ended up sharing some new details about the event.
Back in September, CSI Sports announced the two would meet in an exhibition fight – a matchup many had previously thought unlikely. The news went quiet for a while after that initial announcement, but now it appears there is fresh momentum behind the event.
Speaking at one of his events in Dublin, Tyson said: “It’s going to be in March and it’s going to be in Africa. It’s going to be incredible, it’s going to break all the records and it’s going to be one of the biggest events in the history of the sport.”
Conor McGregor backs Mike Tyson ahead of Floyd Mayweather clash
Tyson spent much of his trip to Dublin with UFC star Conor McGregor, who knows a thing or two about facing Mayweather.
The two fought in 2017 in what became the second-biggest boxing match ever, and ‘The Notorious’ is backing Tyson to put on a strong showing against his old opponent.
Speaking after dinner with the 59-year-old at The Black Forge Inn, McGregor said: “I’m excited for it. Because you know what? Mike looks amazing. It’s been seven years since he was last here [in Dublin], he was here in 2018 and I met him back then.
“That was seven years ago and he looks even seven years younger than then, you get me? It’s Mike Tyson, man. I’ll tell you what, he won’t lose. I hope it goes ahead, he seems confident it’s going ahead, he’s well up for it.”
