Mike Grella and Lloyd Sam have reacted on Twitter after Leeds United picked up a crucial win over Norwich City on Sunday afternoon. Leeds conceded an injury-time equaliser, only for Joe Gelhardt to score a winner.

Jesse Marsch was under increasing pressure in just his third match as Leeds boss – after watching Leeds lose, bravely, to Leicester City 2-1. But after a dismal 3-0 home defeat to Aston Villa, the concerns were aplenty.

However, Leeds finally ended a run of six straight Premier League losses with a late 2-1 win over Norwich. Rodrigo’s deflected effort gave Leeds the lead, only for Kenny McLean to equalise on 91 minutes at Elland Road.

But it was a substitution from Marsch that did the trick. Gelhardt came off the bench to flick a header to Raphinha – who rounded Tim Krul to find Gelhardt, tapping home just his second ever senior goal for the Whites.

Marsch has mentioned both Grella and Sam – two ex-Leeds players that he managed at New York Red Bulls – on numerous occasions. Both took to Twitter after the win, Grella posting a brilliant image of Marsch celebrating.

Grella and Sam react: Could the tide finally turn for Leeds and Marsch?

It was a brilliant result for Leeds in a must-win, almost Cup-final like clash for the Whites. Marsch needed a win and he got it, just. But it was made all the more sweeter as Burnley and crucially, Everton suffered defeats.

Everton do have three games in hand over Leeds – but the difference is now four points and with the way Frank Lampard’s side are playing, it looks a tall order to win those points, especially with their run of fixtures.
