Some Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the club announcing that they will refund ticket holders for the remaining games of the season.

As announced on Newcastle’s official website, fans who had purchased single match tickets could apply for “a refund or account credit equivalent to the full ticket price for all relevant upcoming matches.”

The statement added that season ticket holders for the 2019-20 campaign are eligible for a pro-rata refund or pro-rata account credit for the final Premier League home games.

According to BBC Sport, Newcastle are the last club in the Premier League to announce their plans for behind-closed-doors games.

The Magpies are in the middle of a proposed takeover, with the Premier League currently conducting it’s owner’s and director’s test after a bid from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), as reported by The Chronicle.

Steve Bruce’s side will return to action in the league this weekend when they take on Sheffield United at St. James’ Park.
