Former Celtic player Mikael Lustig played quite a few games against Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers.
Lustig was on the books of Celtic from 2012 until this summer when he left the Glasgow giants for Gent in Belgium.
The Sweden international central defender is delighted to have joined Gent, and he has taken a light-hearted dig at Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers by saying that he is pleased that he is not wearing the blue of Celtic’s bitter Old Firm rivals.
The Scottish Sun quotes Lustig as saying: “After eight years with Celtic it felt strange to be pulling on a blue shirt. Thankfully it isn’t the same shade of blue as the Rangers strip!”
Title race
During Lustig’s time at Celtic, the Hoops were the dominant force in Scotland, and the Bhoys still are.
Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership title for the past eight seasons, and Neil Lennon’s side will be confident of making it nine in a row in 2019-20.
Rangers, though, are a renewed force under manager Steven Gerrard, and having finished second in the league table last season, they will be aiming to at least push the Hoops all the way in 2019-20 and give them a run for their money.
