SPL 2016/17 saw Celtic enjoy a phenomenal domestic campaign where they not only won their sixth consecutive League title, but went on to win the domestic treble and remained unbeaten throughout.

Mikael Lustig, the Celtic defender, said that what the Bhoys have achieved this season will probably never be going to happen again in Scottish football.

The Swedish full-back has named three players who had been outstanding for Celtic last season.

“Stuart Armstrong has been brilliant but to get Moussa Dembele and Scotty Sinclair from England helps. They have made a really big impact,” he said to The Daily Record.

Sinclair joined from Aston Villa for a fee of £3 million as reported by The Guardian. He had previously worked with Brendan Rodgers at Swansea and took no time to settle at Celtic Park. Having scored 21 goals in the SPL and 25 goals in all competitions, he was rightly awarded SFWA Footballer of the Year.

Dembele, who joined from Fulham on a four-year contract, made a huge impact too, scoring 32 goals in all competitions last season.

It remains to be seen how long Celtic can hold on to their young star player, as big European clubs like Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund have reportedly expressed their interest.
