New Sunderland signing Mika has promised the club’s fans he will work hard to help the club to success, speaking to the club’s official website.
The goalkeeper arrived at the Stadium of Light this week after being allowed to join outside of the transfer window.
He has been brought in to add further competition in the goalkeeper department, with youngster Jordan Pickford the most senior option following an injury to Vito Mannone.
Indeed, there is every chance that he could be thrown straight into the first team for Monday night’s clash with Everton.
And he has promised the club’s fans he will work hard to help the club to success.
“This is a very big opportunity for me and my future,” he told the club’s official website.
“It is the dream of all players to play in England and for me this is the best day of my life. It’s a very good move for me. I’m a hard-worker and I promise the fans of Sunderland that I will work hard to help the club to victories.”

It will now be interesting to see if Moyes does decide to hand Mika an immediate place in the first team.
Pickford is highly rated and the club and was largely impressive in the 1-1 draw with Southampton last time around.
However, his late mistake that gave the Saints a point may have been an indicator he is not yet ready for Premier League football and perhaps Moyes will go with his new manager because of it.
