The Owls meet Hull City in the Championship play-off final.

Former Sheffield Wednesday defender Miguel Llera is confident that the Owls have what it takes to spring a surprise when they come up against Hull City in the Championship play-off final, the Sheffield Star reports.
Carlos Carvalhal’s men face the Tigers at Wembley on Saturday, but it is Steve Bruce’s men that go into the contest as the favourites having spent some of the campaign fighting for an automatic-promotion place and finishing nine points clear of their opponents.
But Llera – who was part of the Wednesday side that were promoted from League One four years ago – believes that the nature of the game means that the favourites tag means very little.

“I’m feeling very positive about Wednesday’s chances, but, in one game, you never know what can happen,” he told the Star.
“It would be good for the city and the people around the club if Wednesday get promoted.”

With Wednesday knocking Brighton out in the semi-final, they will go into the clash with a tremendous amount of confidence that they have the ability to cause another upset.
The Seagulls went into the play-offs having not lost any of their previous 14 games in the Championship, and having only been denied automatic-promotion on the final day of the season.

Nevertheless, the Owls managed to win the first leg and hold onto a draw in the second to book their place in the final, and send a message to their opponents that writing them off would be a major mistake.
