It goes without saying that Arsenal need a bit of a revamp.
Mikel Arteta’s side are 14th in the Premier League table after only scoring 10 goals in as many games so far this season.
Prior to the season starting, a top-four finish would’ve been the goal that Arsenal set Arteta in his first full season in charge.
But the Gunners are miles from being good enough to even challenge for Champions League qualification right now.
But if rumours are true, there’s exciting plans in January.
According to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, the Arsenal boss is planning a ‘clear out’ next month in the belief that he has too many ‘passengers’ in the squad.
If true, this will bring a smile to many fans’ faces.
The North Londoners have needed to clear out their deadwood for years, with the likes of Sead Kolasinac and Shkodran Mustafi staying at the club perhaps longer than their talent merits.
And if Arteta can pull off a revamp next month – and it’ll be hard, because January is historically a difficult month to complete transfer business – then it could set them up for a class second half of the campaign.
