Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron looked all set to take the Premier League by storm next campaign.

Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron must be tearing his hair out over what is happening at St. James’ Park right now.

Almiron was been away representing Paraguay at the Copa America, meaning he has had to watch from afar as Newcastle have ripped apart their squad from last season.

Almiron only joined Newcastle in January in a £21 million deal (Guardian), but he made such a promising opening to his career at St. James’ Park that there was huge expectations about what he could do over the upcoming campaign.

With six months experience under his belt, Almiron looked ready to rip apart the Premier League.

However, Almiron has just lost his two main strike partners at Newcastle, and there are question marks over who he will supply next term.

The Northern Echo suggest that Newcastle are set to sell Ayoze Perez, after refusing to sanction a deal for Salomon Rondon.

Rondon, Perez and Almiron had looked so dangerous towards the back end of the campaign for Newcastle, with the trio forming a wonderful partnership.

Almiron must be concerned that his own effectiveness will be limited by Newcastle’s transfer dealings.

Without two goalscorers around him, Almiron’s creativity and direct running could be totally wasted.

And if Newcastle don’t bring in a striker of proven quality then Almiron’s breakthrough season may never happen, through no fault of his own.
