Newcastle United need a creator and Miguel Almiron – linked last year – could be that man.

Newcastle United are safe in the Premier League and, having lost at Everton, it appears as though they will finish no higher than 10th this season.
Therefore, with nothing to play for, it is important that manager Rafa Benitez looks to next season and starts to put plans in place to improve the side.
The Magpies have performed well in 2018, but there still remain numerous positions that need investment.

Permanent deals for Martin Dubravka, Kenedy and Islam Slimani would certainly aid Benitez, but he also desperately needs another option in attacking midfield.
And Miguel Almiron, linked via Calciomercato last year, is an ideal candidate.
The Atlanta United midfielder – a Paraguay international – is an exciting talent and possesses attributes that Newcastle are missing right now, even with Ayoze Perez in form.
Almiron can carry the ball forward at pace and has real quality in the final third, while retaining the hard work that Benitez so craves.

In fact, Almiron looks like the type of player that Benitez would love as much as he would love working with the Newcastle manager. There is a greater attraction for him now the Magpies are secure in the top flight, too.
His talent is matched by his heart and he could add a dash of class to this hard-working Newcastle side, kicking the Magpies on towards the next level where they might compete for European football.
Newcastle must do more than stand still this summer and Almiron, already with four goals and four assists in seven Major League Soccer games this year, would be a perfect start.
