Newcastle United are said to be keen to bring Miguel Almiron to St. James’ Park in the January transfer window.

Miguel Almiron could be Newcastle United’s most dynamic attacking talent since Hatem Ben Arfa left, if he does move to St. James’ Park.

The Chronicle report that Newcastle are very interested in signing Almiron from Atalanta United, with the playmaker impressing in MLS.

Almiron is a wonderful talent with the ball at his feet, and his willingness to commit defenders makes him a similar prospect to Ben Arfa.

The enigmatic Frenchman left St. James’ Park back in 2015, but he is still fondly remembered by many at Newcastle.

And Almiron would have the ability to excite the Newcastle crowd with his drilling skill.

Although the Paraguayan is fairly lightweight, he would offer Rafael Benitez’s side’s a different threat going forward.

Newcastle have lacked creativity in the final third over most of the campaign so far, but Almiron could fill that void.

And if Newcastle can get a deal over the line for the 24-year-old then it should be treated as a thrilling prospect by Magpies’ fans.
