Speaking on the We Are Liverpool Podcast, Robbie Fowler has hailed James Milner as an absolute Liverpool legend.
The midfielder joined the Reds under Brendan Rodgers back in 2015, and it’s fair to say that he’s carved out a brilliant career at Anfield.
He’s won every trophy available to him, and while he’s not been the star of the show very often, he’s become a real hero on Merseyside.
Fowler knows more than anyone what a true Liverpool legend looks like, and the former striker has now told Milner that he now falls into that bracket.

Fowler christens Milner as a legend
The pair spoke about Milner’s Liverpool legacy.
“I think when you talk about football and you talk about instances and winning all of the trophies, this and that. You might not like this, but you are an absolute Liverpool legend, how would you like to be remembered?” Fowler said.
“I don’t know, for me I just want to contribute, signing for Liverpool with their incredible history they hadn’t been as successful as they should have bene in recent times, can you start a successful period and to be lucky enough to do what we’ve done is great. I’d just like to be remembered as part of that and as a contributor to the team who has done that,” Milner said.
Modern great
James Milner probably doesn’t belong in the pantheon of Liverpool legends in the same way Kenny Dalglish, Fowler, Steven Gerrard and Mohamed Salah do, but he’s certainly one of the most beloved players of this era.
He’s a fan favourite, an incredibly hard worker and a standard bearer for all at the club.
Legend may be too strong of a word, but one thing is for sure, Milner has carved out a fantastic legacy at this historic football club.
