Harry Redknapp has told Sky Sports News (9pm, 6/10/2020) that Liverpool needed Robin Olsen more than Everton.
Olsen has signed for the Toffees from Roma and is expected to give Jordan Pickford competition in goal.
But, after watching Liverpool concede seven, Redknapp felt that the Red half of Merseyside actually needed Olsen more.
“You thought he might have gone to Liverpool,” he said. “Liverpool need a goalkeeper more than Everton at the moment.
“If Alisson is out long-term it could be vital to them. They are going to need good back-up.”
Liverpool were linked with a host of goalkeepers yesterday, but they didn’t get a deal over the line.

Jurgen Klopp’s side appear to have kept faith in Adrian, which could be a concern.
The Spanish goalkeeper looked very shaky in Liverpool’s last game as they conceded seven to Aston Villa.
Everton, meanwhile, will hope that Olsen’s arrival can inspire Jordan Pickford to cut the errors out of his game.
Everton and Liverpool actually are set to meet in two weekends’ time, in what already looks like an unmissable Merseyside derby.
