Everton’s Richarlison has admitted to UAI that he feared he could break his ankle in a challenge with Edison Cavani last night.
Cavani was sent off as Brazil beat Uruguay yesterday, after putting in a terrible tackle on the Everton forward.
And Richarlison feared the worst when he came into the tackle, although he appears to have come out unscathed.
“I think it was a ball dispute, he went over the top, if my foot was stuck it might have even broken my ankle, but I think it wasn’t bad, he tried to steal the ball and ended up missing the boat,” he said.
Richarlison is only just returning from suspension so Everton fans will be relieved that he did come out of the fierce tackle without any problems.

The Toffees forward’s importance to Carlo Ancelotti’s side has been highlighted in recent weeks, as their form has tumbled without him.
Everton have failed to win any of their last four games, which has caused them to slip down the table.
Richarlison should be back to feature at the weekend though, as he played a scoring role and looked sharp in Brazil’s 2-0 win yesterday.
