There was a bit of a Tottenham Hotspur reunion last night.
Gareth Bale and Jan Vertonghen came up against each other on the international stage after brielfy sharing a dressing room at Spurs.
Vertonghen’s Belgium beat Bale and Wales 3-1 in World Cup qualifying.
It was a serious game, but neither the big defender or Bale – who is back at Tottenham now on loan – could disguise their affinity for one another before the game.
There’s a photo doing the rounds on Twitter of Vertonghen and the Real Madrid-owned attacker interacting before the game, with both being captains of their respective side.
And here’s how fans of the North London club reacted on Twitter:
Vertonghen and Bale only had one season together at White Hart Lane.
The big Belgian powerhouse joined Tottenham from Ajax in the summer of 2012 and Bale left for Real a year later in a world-record £86 million deal.
