Tottenham fans on Twitter fear that Paulo Gazzaniga’s time at the club could be coming to an end following the arrival of Joe Hart.

On Tuesday, Spurs snapped up Hart’s signature on a two-year contract following his recent release from Burnley.

It was a surprise move from both parties and it has raised questions as to how Tottenham’s goalkeeping pecking order will now look ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Hugo Lloris has been Spurs’ number one for a while now, with the likes of Gazzaniga, and the recently-departed Michel Vorm, filling in when the Frenchman has been injured.

Gazzaniga was purchased by Mauricio Pochettino three years ago, and whilst he hasn’t been a regular in between the sticks, he hasn’t let the club down as a back-up.

It now raises the questions of whether Hart will be Tottenham’s number two, number three, or even don the main gloves ahead of Lloris.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signings

  1. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

    £15 million; Southampton

  2. Joe Hart

  3. Matt Doherty

    £13 million; Wolves

  4. Sergio Reguilon

    £25 million; Real Madrid

  5. Gareth Bale

    Loan; Real Madrid

  6. Carlos Vinicius

    Loan; Benfica

  7. Joe Rodon

    £12 million; Swansea

The latter is highly unlikely, but if Hart is Tottenham’s number two, as many would expect, then it raises the question as to what will happen to Gazzaniga.

There are sections of Spurs fans who feel his time at the club could be at an end and they wouldn’t be surprised to see him depart this summer.

The summer transfer window is due to slam shut in October, so with the season starting next month, it does provide the fans with a chance to see who will be in what order when the first ball is kicked.
