Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are frustrated by Jose Mourinho’s injury update about Erik Lamela.

The Argentina international, a £30 million signing seven years ago, hasn’t kicked a ball for Spurs in over a month.

Lamela hasn’t played since the 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion following a calf problem and at this stage, the former Roma winger is no stranger to the treatment room.

Mourinho labelled the 28-year-old as ‘amazing’ last February but it’s growing increasingly difficult to rely on him due to being somewhat injury prone.

The Portuguese has revealed via Football London that he’ll play no part in tomorrow’s Europa League clash with LASK – or indeed the visit of Arsenal in Sunday’s North London derby.

And here’s how some Tottenham supporters are reacting to the injury update on Twitter:

When you’re a tad prone to injury-related absences, these prolonged periods of not playing are always a bit of a worry.

It’d be a lot better if he alternated between being fit and unfit within two or three-week cycles, but history indicates that when he’s out, Lamela – who has missed over 100 matches since joining in 2013 – tends to stay out for a while.
