Spurs seem to have failed to find an answer to their defensive woes this season, despite Jose Mourinho trying a number of different pairings.
Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez have all been given opportunities to impress this campaign, but none of the trio have ever fully convinced.
And, after watching their side let in five against Everton in midweek, Tottenham fans are now calling for Mourinho to try Tanganga and Rodon together against City.
If Mourinho was to throw the inexperienced pair in at the deep end it would be a huge risk, but it could just work.
Rodon has shown flashes of quality in his fleeting appearances in the first-team, although he does need to cut out the errors he has been making.
Tanganga, meanwhile, has previously thrived after being handed a shock start against Liverpool – and the hope among supporters is that he could do the same if selected later.
