Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster has been discussing Liverpool after their poor start to the season.

The Reds have been in shocking form at the start of 2022/23, they’ve already lost more league games than they did last year and they sit firmly in mid-table.

There is still this underlying feeling that Liverpool will get their act together eventually, but Foster isn’t so confident, stating that he thinks that the Reds will actually now finish outside of the top four.

Liverpool won’t get top four

Foster gave his verdict on where the Reds will finish.

“We’re going to talk about Liverpool. I didn’t see this one coming and it’s getting to the point now where Liverpool are so inconsistent, I’m going to throw this out there and it might be an unpopular opinion, it might be a popular opinion, I’m not sure anymore, but I’m going to throw it out there that I don’t think Liverpool will make top four anymore, I don’t think they’ll be in the top four at the end of the season,” Foster said.

Too early

Simply put, it is way too early to be making claims like this.

If Liverpool win their game in hand, they will be just five points off of fourth place, and given that the Reds almost managed to claw back a 14-point gap to Manchester City last season after January, you can’t write them off.

This is a team that has constantly proven their doubters wrong, and you have to be a fool to write them off once again.

They’re certainly not favourites for a top four spot, but they still have a strong chance of getting into next season’s Champions League.
