Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici have agreed that their next manager has to be capable of working with this current squad.
The Guardian claim that Tottenham’s new director of football and their highly-criticised chairman think they need to go down the route of appointing an experienced operator.
Whilst names have been flung far and wide in regards to Tottenham’s next manager, the man now seemingly in the hot seat to replace Jose Mourinho is Paulo Fonseca.
But from the Tottenham supporters perspective, they aren’t too pleased that those in the boardroom are going down this road.
This Spurs team underperformed and showed signs of decline under Mauricio Pochettino – and he was sacked.
And the same decline occurred under the experienced and trophy-laden coach of Jose Mourinho – and he was given his marching order.
So, it’s no surprise that supporters are a little worried that there won’t seemingly be much change to this current squad.
There are a lot of players who could perhaps count themselves lucky if they are still at the club next season, because bar a few, many have underperformed.
Given the slope Spurs have been going down during the past few seasons, what occurred this term, puts everyone donning the club’s colours next season under immense pressure when the new campaign kicks off in August.
