Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Real Madrid superstar.
Mido was a guest on talkSPORT this afternoon (Thursday, May 23rd), and urged Real Madrid star Gareth Bale to go back to Tottenham this summer.
The Welsh wizard left Spurs for Madrid in the summer of 2013, and despite winning four Champions League trophies during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos fans have never really warmed to him.
He now finds himself well down the pecking order at Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane refusing to bring him on off the bench during their final few games of the season, so Tottenham could surely tempt him into moving back to north London.
That’s Mido’s view, anyway.
The Egyptian told talkSPORT today that if Bale returned to Spurs, he will be one of the best players in the Premier League:
“Go back to Tottenham. Come back and play at Tottenham for three or four years. He’s got so much money, I’m sure he’ll be well off enough now to have a happy life with his family. He needs to feel loved and people love him at Tottenham. If he goes back he will be one of the best players in the Premier League again.”
According to a report from Spanish publication AS, Madrid are willing to sell Bale, 29, for around €130 million (£114 million), and it is highly unlikely that Tottenham will be able to match that asking price.
If some common ground can be found, however, it would be no surprise to see the Wales international return to Spurs this summer.
