Former Tottenham striker Mido has taken aim at the club’s board and demanded serious transfer activity this summer.
He feels that Spurs need at least four new faces through the door to bolster the squad.
Of course the club still don’t have a manager, and it has taken Daniel Levy a long time to replace Jose Mourinho.
That’s the first thing to decide before any new players come in.
There’s no point signing players and then it turns out that the new manager doesn’t rate them.
It’ll be a hard summer in which to do business anyway with the European Championship taking centre stage.
Spurs still need to get their manager in place, thrash out transfer targets and then secure them.
And Levy is notoriously slow on that front, preferring to get the price down rather than get a player in early and give them more chance to bed in.
Where do Spurs need new players?
A central defender who could transform the backline like Ruben Dias and Virgil van Dijk would be huge for Spurs.
Of course a lot depends on whether Harry Kane goes. If he does, they’d have a lot more money but need to replace a world class striker.
In any case, they could do with another forward to share the burden. A new central midfielder wouldn’t go amiss.
And a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris should be on the agenda of any new Spurs boss.
