Spurs earned a 3-1 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido has been quoted by the Daily Express as saying that Spurs are lucky to have a striker like Harry Kane – something which Chelsea do not have.
Kane, 25, finally broke his August hoodoo with a precise finish against newly-promoted Fulham, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side made it two from two with a comfortable 3-1 win over Slavisa Jokanovic’s side.
Lucas Moura and Kieran Trippier also got their names on the score sheet, after Aleksandar Mitrovic had equalised. But fans will be excited to see if Kane can further his goalscoring exploits this term, after finally ending his August drought.
Mido, who played for Spurs for two years between 2005 and 2007, reckons Spurs are lucky to have their number 10 while claiming Chelsea need a player just like Kane.
“He’s brilliant – he’s got everything,” Mido said. “He’s strong, he’s quick. He finishes with his right, left, header, free-kicks. He’s a great character, a great leader. I’ve heard some very good stories about him that he’s a top professional lad.
“He’s a guy that every team would dream to have and it’s not easy now to find good strikers, believe me. Look at Chelsea, they are struggling to get a good striker in. I think let’s say we are lucky to have Harry Kane at Tottenham.”
Chelsea currently boast Alvaro Morata, but he has struggled to prove his transfer fee from Real Madrid while Olivier Giroud is used on a bit-part basis. Michy Batshuayi has moved on loan to Valencia.
Kane scored a huge 41 goals in 48 games last season, before winning the World Cup golden boot with six – despite fans criticising the England skipper for looking jaded in his performances for Gareth Southgate’s squad.
Spurs face a hugely difficult test against Manchester United at Old Trafford next time out, as they travel to face Jose Mourino’s side next Monday.
