Tottenham Hotspur clinched an impressive win over Manchester City to move within a point of the league leaders.

An own goal from Aleksandar Kolarov and a strike from Dele Alli gave Spurs the three points, ending City’s unbeaten run.

Tottenham themselves are now the only unbeaten team in the Premier League, to the delight of fans and current and ex-players alike.

Among the former Tottenham players to get excited at the team’s victory were ex-midfielder Darren Anderton, and striker Mido.

The duo posted messages on Twitter expressing their delight at the team’s win, and congratulating them on victory.

The enthusiasm the former players have for their old team says not only a lot about how fondly they remember the club and the way it is run, but underlines the great work this current side are putting in.

This Tottenham team is packed with talent and they are as tough mentally as they are physically, and there is a real feeling Mauricio Pochettino is building something special.

With key players tied down to long term deals, there is potential greatness to come in the future, but this team are showing that they are able to compete at the very top right now, and are likely to be in the mix come the end of the season.
