It’s Partey time for Arsenal

After a lengthy pursuit, Arsenal have finally got their man having confirmed the signing of Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey.

The Gunners have paid a €50million (£45million) fee to lure Partey to North London, paying the release clause in his contract.

The 27-year-old Ghana international will now bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad, marking a major coup for Arsenal in the final stages of the transfer window.

Spurs won’t sign Rodon tonight, have another target in mind

Tottenham will end the international transfer window without a new centre back, but they’re still pushing for a new defender.

Swansea City ace Joe Rodon is Tottenham’s main target, but the deal won’t be done tonight according to Sky Sports (23:23), with Spurs having until October 16th to get a deal done.

They also claim that Spurs are looking at one more mystery centre back, presumably an EFL player, with more than a week left to get a deal done.

Everton snap up Robin Olsen

Everton signed Ben Godfrey at the start of deadline day, and have now landed goalkeeper Robin Olsen on loan at the end of the day.

The 30-year-old arrives as new competition for Jordan Pickford, given that the England international has been struggling of late.

Olsen spent last season on loan at Cagliari, and presents a huge figure at 6ft 5in tall, whilst he has 38 caps for Sweden.

Bernard snubs Everton exit

Everton wide man Bernard was a wanted man today, as Roma were looking to reunite him with his former Shakhtar boss Paulo Fonseca.

However, the Daily Mail (23:10) report that Bernard rejected Roma and decided to stay at Everton, with the Brazilian looking to fight for his future.

West Ham rejected by Tomori

West Ham have been desperately pursuing a new centre back before the deadline, and thought they had a deal done for Chelsea talent Fikayo Tomori.

However, 10 minutes before the deadline, Tomori rejected West Ham according to Sky Sports (23:16), despite a ‘huge’ loan fee being agreed.

The 22-year-old will now stay at West Ham and attempt to force his way into a crowded Chelsea defence.

Anderson to leave West Ham

Tomori isn’t joining West Ham, and there will now be a player leaving the London Stadium with Felipe Anderson heading to Porto.

The Mail (22:47) claim that Anderson’s move to Porto will be confirmed on Tuesday, in time for him to be included in Porto’s European squad as the Brazilian seeks first-team football elsewhere.
