The tricky winger came to the attention of Burnley and several other clubs after playing just three games for Shrewsbury and he was snapped up Burnley after impressing during a trial stint at Turf Moor.
Ginnelly has yet to make his first-team debut for Burnley, but he has been a consistent performer for the club’s under-21s and is well thought of within the corridors of power at Turf Moor.
Ginnelly enjoyed a successful spell out on loan at National League outfit Altrincham last January scoring five goals in 20 appearances as Burnley wanted him to gain some valuable first-team experience.

The 19-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at League One Walsall and he caught the eye with the Saddlers, making 14 appearances for the club before returning to Burnley earlier this month.
His performances out on loan at Walsall and for Burnley’s Under-21s have alerted a number of clubs to Ginnelly’s promise with the likes of Leicester, West Brom and Aston Villa all tracking him.
Ginnelly still has 18 months to run on his Burnley contract and the Clarets are keen to keep hold of the skilful wide man.
