The Middlesbrough ace would be a useful addition to the Burnley squad this summer.
The Clarets enjoyed an relatively successful Premier League campaign last season, and their finishing position of 16th was considered as an admirable effort by their fans and pundits alike.
One minor concern for Sean Dyche, however, would have been his side’s tally of just 39 Premier League goals scored, with a lack of creativity from midfield proving to be a major contributing factor behind their poor attacking productivity.
And the addition of an attack-minded, creative midfielder will surely feature highly on the Burnley manager’s agenda this summer.
With this in mind, Dyche should consider bringing Boro ace Gaston Ramirez to Turf Moor, with the 26-year-old facing an uncertain future at the Riverside.
Middlesbrough’s Gaston Ramirez in action
The Uruguayan possesses all of the attributes that the Clarets are crying out for, what with his technical ability on the ball and his knack of finding space in the final third.
Ramirez moved to Teesside from Southampton in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer, following a successful five-month loan spell.
He failed to make the impact that was expected of him, however, scoring just two goals and chipping in with only three assists in 24 Premier League outings for Middlesbrough.
A change of scenery, and playing under a manger with new ideas and philosophies could be what the Uruguay international needs to reinvigorate his career, however, and Turf Moor could be the ideal destination for Ramirez to do just that.
And if Dyche manages to bring the Boro ace to Lancashire this summer, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Burnley.
