West Ham United should attempt to bring the Middlesbrough man to east London this summer.

With James Collins gone, Winston Reid struggling with persistent injuries and Angelo Ogbonna on the wrong side of 30, Manuel Pellegrini quite simply must bolster his centre-back department at West Ham this summer.
The Hammers have already brought in Issa Diop, but the addition of another top quality centre-back is still needed, especially if Pellegrini wants the option of playing with three central defenders.

With this in mind, West Ham should consider a move for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, who could be available for the right price this summer.

According to a report from the Sun, the Teesside outfit will demand around £20 million for the 25-year-old this summer, and in today’s market, that would actually represent decent value for the Hammers.
Gibson is an excellent defender, and plays with a certain kind of maturity that defies his tender years.

Standing at 6ft 1in tall, and in possession of a fantastic leap, the Boro man is incredibly strong in the air, but he is also very quick along the ground.
His is comfortable with both feet, and is a fantastic all-round defender.
West Ham seem to be making real progress in the transfer window this summer, and if they manage to bring Gibson to the London Stadium, it would signify that they are planning for the future, and finally have some kind of vision that has been lacking in recent years.
