According to Sky Sports (Transfer Live blog, 16:13pm, Friday, August 31, 2018), Aston Villa are at an advanced stage in talks with Chelsea over the loan signing of Tammy Abraham.

It has been reported that Abraham joining Villa on loan from Chelsea would allow Middlesbrough to sign Albert Adomah from the Villans.

Good signing for Aston Villa?

Abraham is a talented and promising young striker who knows the Championship from his time at Bristol City in 2016-17.

The Chelsea striker would be a good signing for the Villans, especially as the 20-year-old would be signed on loan.

TEAMtalk reported earlier today that Villa manager Steve Bruce does not consider Adomah in his plans for the 2018-19 campaign.

The 30-year-old winger knows the Championship well, and the Ghana international would be a smart signing for Middlesbrough, who, like Villa, are aiming to finish in the top six of the league table this season.

Adomah has been on the books of Villa since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Middlesbrough for a transfer fee reported by Gazette Live to be worth £5 million.
