The Middlesbrough man would be a useful addition to the Everton squad.
Ronald Koeman is keen to bolster his back-line this summer, with many of his defenders on the wrong side of 30, as they head into what will surely be one of the most competitive Premier League campaigns since its’ inception in 1992.
The addition of a young, yet fully establish centre-back will surely feature highly on the Dutchman’s agenda, and with this in mind, Everton should consider a move for Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson.

The Sun are claiming today that the Teesside outfit have slapped a £25 million price-tag on the 24-year-old’s head, but that should not deter the Toffees in their pursuit of the highly-rated Englishman.
At just 24, Gibson has around a decade ahead of him where he will be at his best, from a physical perspective, and with his already mature footballing brain, he could become one of the country’s finest defenders.
With the jury still out on Ramiro Funes Mori, the Boro centre-back would slot into Everton’s back-line seamlessly, and could form a solid central defensive partnership with Ashley Williams.
Standing at 6ft 1in, Gibson is strong in the air, but is also quick along the ground. That combined with the fact that he is an exceptional reader of the game makes him a real top tier defender, and it could be argued that he is pretty much already the ‘finished article’, despite his tender years.
Koeman has already demonstrated his immense faith in youngsters, by shelling out £25 million, that could rise to £30 million, for 23-year-old Jordan Pickford, and he should continue that trend by bringing Gibson to Merseyside, as he looks to build a very bright future at Goodison Park.
