Middlesbrough and Bristol City have been linked with Charlton Athletic ace Anfernee Dijksteel.

According to the Teesside Gazette, Middlesbrough’s third bid for Anfernee Dijksteel has met Charlton Athletic’s asking price while Bristol City are also interested in signing the player.
The report states that Boro, after failing with two previous bids, are now in pole position to sign the Charlton defender and the club are confident of securing a deal before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Boro have been keen on signing Dijksteel for much of the summer with manager Jonathan Woodgate placing him near the top of his summer wish-list.
The Teesside club struggled defensively in their opening game at Championship new-boys Luton Town as they played out an entertaining 3-3 draw.
Boro started the game with Jonny Howson at right-back, but the 31-year-old is naturally a midfielder and it’s an area Woodgate must strengthen ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline.
Dijksteel started Charlton’s 2-1 win at Blackburn Rovers as a right wing-back, and he was watched by Woodgate as the Boro boss made the trip to Ewood Park to take a further look at the player.

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer told reporters after the game how he recognises Championship interest in the 22-year-old, and he was hopeful of keeping hold of the player beyond the summer.
Bristol City, meanwhile, starting their campaign with a home defeat to Leeds United. The Robins have cash to strengthen having just sold Adam Webster to Brighton, but they will need to make their move quick.
