Reports in Luxembourg are claiming that Middlesbrough watched talented youngster Enes Mahmutovic in action this weekend.

Le Quotidien report that Boro had scouts present on Sunday as he faced Differdange for his current club Fola Esch.

The 19-year-old centre-back has fast become one of his nation’s most highly regarded young talents ever and is being linked with plenty of moves abroad in the summer.

Middlesbrough were said to be very impressed with what they saw from the talented teenager, even offering him a chance for a trial with the club’s development team this week. However, according to the report, Mahmutovic rejected the opportunity at this moment in time.

Middlesbrough are of course not the only team in England currently taking a look at the player. Aston Villa are also keen on the talent, who can also play at right-back or in holding midfield.

In January Aston Villa took the teen on trial and he impressed during his spell at Bodymoor Heath.

The 19-year-old, who made his international debut for Luxembourg earlier this year, clearly has plenty of options ahead of him this summer.

Middlesbrough and Aston Villa look set to be two of them.
