Middlesbrough have invited The New Saints defender Ryan Pryce on trial as they weigh up a move for the highly-rated teenager, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Pryce has been earning rave reviews for TNS since breaking into the team during the 2014/15 season and he has gone on to establish himself as a key member of the Welsh Premier League champions.
The attacking full-back has made 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season and he impressed for TNS during their Champions League qualifiers at the start of the season.
Pryce’s performances have not gone unnoticed by clubs higher up the football pyramid with several Premier League and Championship sides keeping tabs on his progress.
Stoke and Sunderland have both shown an interest in Pryce, but Middlesbrough are hoping to steal a march on their Premier League rivals by taking the player to Teesside on trial.

Pryce will spend this week training with Middlesbrough so that Boro’s coaching staff can have a look at him at close quarters before deciding whether or not to pursue their interest in the right-back.
TNS are resigned to losing Pryce and are unlikely to stand in his way if a Premier League or Championship club makes an offer for his services.
