Middlesbrough have been given a big boost ahead of this weekend after Adama Traore’s ban was overturned.

The speedy winger was sent off against Sunderland for pushing an opponent but Middlesbrough appealed to the Football League and now Traore is eligible to face Leeds United on Friday night.

Traore has been in good form recently, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 2018.

Leeds fans were understandably unhappy, especially considering their problems at left-back, with January signing Laurens De Bock dropped at the weekend after a terrible performance against Derby in midweek.

While Leeds supporters are frustrated with the decision, Middlesbrough fans are loving it.

Both teams are battling to get back amongst the play-off race after a mixed start to the campaign.

Boro are in seventh place, three points above Leeds, and a win for the home side would be a real blow to Paul Heckingbottom’s team.

Supporters are gaining confidence after Tony Pulis replaced Garry Monk and while Traore’s absence appeared to be a big blow, now they are hopeful of gaining another three points, this time at Leeds’ expense.
