Middlesbrough signed defender Danny Batth with moments to spare of the August loan deadline.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has made no secret in his desire to sign another defender or two to add to bolster his squad for a long Championship campaign.
And with Pulis now employing a formation that depends on three central defenders, it was imperative that the second tier promotion hopefuls made some additions.
Therefore, Boro dipped into the loan window and have signed Wolves defender Danny Batth on a season-long loan and fans of the Teeside club have taken to social media to react to the news.
Batth played a key part in the Wolves side that stormed the Championship last season, making 21 appearances for the Midlands-based side.
The 27-year-old has played for Wolves since 2009, but has been on loan at clubs including Colchester United and Sheffield Wednesday in that time.

The Wolves club captain has been skipper at Molinuex for a number of years, but has joined Middlesbrough on a season-long loan with the player unlikely to get game time in the top-flight.
The arrival provides important competition to the three defenders who have been a permanent fixture in Middlesbrough’s Championship side so far this season and Batth could even get a start in Boro’s next game against Norwich City.

Here is the best of the reaction to the news of Batth’s arrival on Teeside…
