Middlesbrough have signed Viktor Fischer from Ajax.

As confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account, Middlesbrough have signed Viktor Fischer from Ajax.
The talented winger arrives on Teesside in a deal worth around £3.8 million (as reported on The Mirror’s Transfer News Live blog at 16:42, May 27) – a potential bargain for a player who has drawn parallels with Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Boro are looking to strengthen their squad this summer after finally securing a return to the Premier League.
Aitor Karanka’s men lost out in the 2014/15 playoff final to Norwich City, but they bounced back this past season by earning automatic promotion from the Championship, finishing in second spot.

Boro boast a pretty decent squad already which has been significantly strengthened by owner Steve Gibson, but the riches of the Premier League will see them spend again this summer.
Fischer, 21, was one of the most promising players in Holland this past season and managed an impressive 11 goals in 39 appearances for the Dutch champions.

Considering how much Manchester United spent on former PSV man Memphis Depay in the summer of 2015 (£31m, as reported by BBC Sport), Aitor Karanka’s men have struck a potential bargain for Fischer and he will only get better at the Riverside Stadium.
Reacting on social networking site Twitter to the announcement of his signing, Boro fans were naturally pleased with the deal and most can’t wait to see him in action in the Premier League next term.
