Middlesbrough fans have their say on Garry Monk’s appointment.

The past 12 months have been far from straightforward for manager Garry Monk, and you could say the same for Birmingham City.
It shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise therefore that Monk has been appointed as boss of the struggling Championship side, who sacked Steve Cotterill at the weekend.
Monk has been out of work since December when he was fired by Middlesbrough after just a few months.
Boro had been favourites to win automatic promotion ahead of the season following Monk’s appointment, which preceded a spending spree.
Many of Monk’s signings have not worked out, with the £6 million plus he spent on Ashley Fletcher one of his worst deals.
Birmingham are not in a position to be particularly choosy, sitting in 22nd place, and while they could have gone down the route of appointing an old hand, they saw last year with Harry Redknapp that would only be a sticking plaster short term solution.

Monk has reunited with assistant boss Pep Clotet, who was without him at Middlesbrough but worked with him at Leeds United.
He will hope that this helps his career get back on track and see Birmingham avoid relegation.
But first up is a game against Middlesbrough, who have improved since Monk’s departure.
Boro fans are convinced Monk is League One bound at Birmingham, and they can smooth the path…
