Leeds United have confirmed that they have signed Adam Forshaw from Championship rivals Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough fans have been reacting on Twitter after Leeds confirmed on their official website that they have signed Adam Forshaw from their Championship rivals for a fee of £4.5 million.
Forshaw joined Middlesbrough in 2015 and enjoyed a great spell at the Riverside Stadium, helping the club to promotion to the Premier League during his first full season with the club and playing regularly during their campaign in the top flight.
However, the 26-year-old has been a more peripheral this term, and Leeds have now confirmed on their official website that he has moved to Elland Road after signing a four and a half year deal with the Whites.
The size of the fee has prompted plenty of discussion on social media, with Leeds spending £4.5 million on the former Everton trainee, making him one of their most expensive signings since they were relegated from the top flight back in 2004.
While most Leeds fans were delighted with the signing given that they have been crying out for the club to concentrate on recruiting players with Championship experience, many Boro fans also appear to be pleased with the deal.
Some have taken to social media to express their surprise that they have managed to get so much money for Forshaw – though others have suggested that it is a blow to lose him.
