Middlesbrough fans want to see Muhamed Besic sign permanently.
The old saying states that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and that is certainly the case with Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic and his loan move to Middlesbrough.
The 25-year-old, who signed for Everton from Hungarian side Ferencvaros after impressing for Bosnia at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has never really been viewed as a key player at Goodison Park, making just over 50 appearances in nearly four years with the Toffees.
Injuries and competition for places have been factors in that, but Besic played just six times for Everton this season, and decided that January was time to move on.
The midfielder joined Championship side Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season, and he has been a key part of Tony Pulis’ side ever since.
Besic has played six times for Middlesbrough since signing for the club, losing just the once as Pulis’ men racked up a third straight win on Saturday with a 3-1 home victory over Barnsley.
Besic has been important to Boro’s charge for the play-offs, and reports from The Northern Echo on Monday suggested that Boro want to make the move permanent, with Everton potentially willing to sell at around £4.5million or slightly more.
Fans have been taking to Twitter to offer their reactions, and whilst Everton appear ready to cash in on Besic, Middlesbrough supporters are urging the club to seal a deal.
Many believe that £4.5million would be an absolute bargain in the current market, calling the deal a ‘no brainer’ whilst suggesting to get him signed up as quickly as possible if Everton want to sell.
