Middlesbrough fans have been left very impressed by former West Ham United forward Marcus Browne’s first display for them.

Boro signed Browne on a permanent transfer from West Ham, with Manuel Pellegrini seemingly happy to let the youngster go.

Many at West Ham were surprised that Browne was allowed to move on this summer.

The playmaker had previously been considered one of West Ham’s best prospects, but had struggled to break into their first-team.

The Hammers’ loss could well turn out to be Boro’s gain though, if his first showing is anything to go by.

Browne was immediately put into Middlesbrough’s starting line-up for their friendly against St Etienne, which finished as a 1-1 draw.

And Boro fans were very impressed by what they saw from their new signing.
