With Adama Traore linked to Chelsea in recent days, what do Middlesbrough fans make of this potential move?

After a fairly solid start to their first season back in the Premier League, Aitor Karanka’s side are starting to hit a rocky patch. Picking up just one win from their last 6 Premier League games, Boro fans are starting to pay much closer attention to the league table, as they bid to stay in the top flight.

But it’s not all doom and gloom. Since the beginning of the season, one of Karanka’s new signings has been an absolute revelation for the Boro, and it wasn’t one many expected. Adama Traore, who had a torrid time at Aston Villa, has been lighting up the Riverside with his electric pace and skill, and now there are rumours of big clubs potentially looking to make a move for the Spaniard.

So will Boro be able to keep hold of him? Should they sell if a big bid comes in? HITC Sport asked Boro fans these questions and more…

Asked if he might be ready for Chelsea, a link acknowledged by Aitor Karanka, as quoted by the Guardian, one Middlesbrough fan said “Ready for Chelsea? He’s not even ready for Middlesbrough never mind Chelsea!” Another Boro fan suggested that Adama was an “appalling, appalling footballer”, with some other fans also intimating that he wasn’t ready for a move to a top four side.

It seems that, despite his good reputation, many Boro fans are pretty fed up with Traore’s habit of standing around, walking, and generally having no affect on the game. “He can run very fast, that’s about it” said one Boro fan, who didn’t seem to be the biggest fan of Traore at all.

“If he went to Chelsea, he’d be sat on the bench for a couple of years, and then he’d end up in the stands” said one fed up Boro fan. It seems Traore isn’t quite the superstar we all thought! Or at least, not yet!
