Middlesbrough host Hull City on Saturday.
Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has singled out Hull City duo Jarred Bowen and Kamil Grosicki as two players his side must monitor closely this Saturday at the Riverside Stadium, Hull Daily Mail report.
“They have players up front who can score a goal. The two wide players have been very effective. The young lad Bowen has scored 21 goals this season and is a good player. That’s a fantastic contribution. He’s had a great season,” Pulis explained.
“And Grosicki, he’s dangerous too. I’ve always liked him. I’ve heard Lewandowski talk about how important he has been to the goals he has scored for Poland.”
Bowen is Hull’s top scorer this season with an impressive 21 Championship goals, while Grosicki has nine strikes and a further 12 assists as the two players provide so much threat from wide areas.
The Hull duo are in stark contrast to Boro’s wide players who are more defensive-minded. In fact, Boro’s leading scorer from midfield is George Saville with four goals, an indication of their struggles in the final third.
The two clubs are just outside the playoffs and Saturday’s clash could all-but end their bid for a top-six place come the end of the season.
It should make for an entertaining game as a draw is no good for either side, especially considering the form of Aston Villa and Bristol City and how those two are set to meet at Villa Park this weekend.
Boro’s best hopes of securing all three points will be to keep Bowen and Grosicki quiet. It will be tough, with Hull coming into the game having found the net 11 times in their last five Championship games.
