Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has spoken about how the international break has come at a good time for the club.

It has not been an ideal start to the Premier League season for Middlesbrough, with the North East side down in 16th following just one win from their opening seven games. Regardless of this, a talented squad and a hungry manager provides optimism for fans during the international break. As reported by Gazette Live, manager Aitor Karanka in particular is enjoying the break as it gives him a chance to fix any problems within the squad.
A handful of players have left due to international duty, but the remaining members of the team is ready for two weeks of training as Karanka aims to get their season back on track.
“A few of the players are away with their national teams but it’s always good to spend time with the players on the training pitch,” the Spaniard said.

“Especially as we lost three games and got just one point (at West Ham).
“The main thing for me was for the players to recover their confidence (before the international break), and I could feel in the changing room after the West Ham game that it was completely different than it was against Everton or Tottenham.”
The Teessiders’ first season back in the big time got off to a positive start in August, with a 2-1 victory over rivals Sunderland being a particular highlight. However since then they have gone six games without a win, and they will be under alot of pressure to break that streak when they face Watford at the Riverside on October 16th.
