Arsenal, Celtic and Leeds United face a surprise battle with Middlesbrough for the signing of Luzern midfielder Ardon Jashari.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who report that Middlesbrough have joined the race to sign Jashari during this month’s transfer window.
It’s stated that Middlesbrough have actually been tracking Jashari for a long time now.
Jashari is now viewed as being perfect for Michael Carrick’s style of play at Middlesbrough and the Championship club could make their move this month.
That would be an enormous coup for Middlesbrough considering that clubs like Arsenal, Celtic and Leeds want Jashari.
Middlesbrough can offer regular first-team football and the chance to work under Carrick, who was a top midfielder in his playing days.

Arsenal, Celtic and Leeds could now miss out on Ardon Jashari
Jashari has become a wanted man this season having enjoyed a superb season with Luzern.
Jashari even earned a call-up to the Switzerland squad for the World Cup and is expected to rack up the caps soon enough.
Reports earlier this season suggested that Jashari is a target for Arsenal, who may look to lure the youngster to work alongside compatriot Granit Xhaka.
Sky Germany added last month that Leeds and Celtic were both challenging Bundesliga clubs for Jashari.
Sky Germany even stated in October that Swiss sources have been telling them that Jashari has the potential to become a player like Jude Bellingham.
That’s enormous praise for Jashari and a move away from Switzerland seems almost inevitable either this month or in the summer.
Arsenal and Leeds can offer a route to the Premier League which may appeal, whilst Celtic have the prospect of regular trophies and European action as a first-team player.
That’s a lot for Middlesbrough to compete with and a move to the Riverside Stadium would be a real shocker for those interested clubs.
